How TMG AnchorPoint Mortgage Inc. collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information.
TMG AnchorPoint Mortgage Inc. ("we", "us") is a licensed mortgage brokerage with a co-brokerage relationship with TMG The Mortgage Group Canada Inc. This policy covers personal information about clients, prospective clients, co-borrowers, guarantors and the people we work with on a file, however we receive it: through this website, by phone, by email or in person. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the rules that apply to mortgage brokerages where we are licensed.
Only what we need to understand what you want to finance and to arrange it, which can include:
Most of it comes from you. With your consent, we may also obtain it from credit bureaus, lenders, insurers, employers, accountants, lawyers, real estate professionals and the partner who referred you, and from public registries.
We do not sell personal information.
We ask for your consent before we collect, use or share your information, except where the law allows otherwise. For a credit check or sending your file to a lender, we ask for your express consent, usually in your application. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits, though we may then be unable to continue arranging financing for you. If you give us information about another person, you confirm you have their permission.
Only what each party needs for your file:
Our team uses technology, including artificial intelligence tools, to work efficiently. A licensed mortgage broker remains responsible for your file and reviews every recommendation we make. We do not use AI to decide whether you qualify for financing. Lenders make their own credit decisions. If an AI assistant answers your call or chat, it will tell you, and you can ask for a person.
Your information is held in secured systems run by us, by TMG The Mortgage Group and by our service providers. Some providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to local law. We protect it with access limited to the people working on your file, multi-factor sign-in, encrypted connections and staff training. Please do not email your social insurance number or a full credit report; your broker will tell you how to send sensitive documents securely.
If a breach involving your information creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.
If you reach us through a link from a referral partner, our website keeps a short code in your browser for up to 30 days so we can record which partner referred you. We do not share your information with that partner without your consent.
When you, or a registered partner acting with your consent, upload documents through our website, they travel over an encrypted connection and are stored in TMG AnchorPoint Mortgageās Microsoft 365 environment, where only our team can access them. We use them to review and arrange your financing and keep them only as long as that purpose and our legal and regulatory record-keeping obligations require. Questions: our Privacy Officer, andrew@tmganchorpoint.ca.
As long as we need it for these purposes, and for mortgage files at least seven years after the transaction, or longer where the law, a regulator or a lender requires. We then securely destroy it.
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, how we have used it and who we have shared it with, and ask us to correct it. Send requests in writing to our Privacy Officer. We will confirm your identity and respond within 30 days. If you have a concern, contact our Privacy Officer first. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Information you submit through forms on this site goes into our client management system so the right person can follow up. We use Google Analytics, which uses cookies, to understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser and the site will still work.
